A grumpy ghost. A dead campground manager. And a florist who would rather be anywhere but the woods.
When big-city florist Hatta McFarlane reluctantly agrees to a camping trip in Oregon’s Tillamook State Forest, she expects insects, no hot water and no Wi-Fi, not murder.
After the campground’s deranged employee Norm Buell is found dead the remote campground is locked down and every camper becomes a suspect. While the handsome but skeptical Deputy Travis Holt investigates, Hatta can’t resist asking questions.
Luckily she has help—her loyal dog Sprout, her long-suffering best friend Karen and the extremely cranky ghost of a long-dead logger who may have witnessed the crime.
But suspicious secrets swirl around the campground, from Brody Kane, who the victim bullied, to Diana, who had a secret link to the victim. .
When Hatta discovers a threatening message scratched in the dirt she realizes she may be the next victim in the deep woods.
